An important aspect of the operation of a pellet heating system is the knowledge of the actual level of the fuel supply. European specialist for pellet heating ÖkoFEN now offers an innovative methods of measuring the stored fuel in the FleXILO Tanks using load cells. This enables a particularly accurate indication of the remaining pellets and can be controlled quite easily online.
Load cells are a specific type of force sensors, which detect the weight of the FleXILO Tanks continuously and thus are able to always make a very precise estimate of the fuel level. The ÖkoFEN load cells offer very high measurement accuracy with an uncertainty of only + / – 100kg. The sensors are mounted beneath the feet of the tank support pillars and increase in overall height of the installation is only four inches, the installation itself is very inexpensively. After a minimum weight has been set for the warning – this value can be set individually – to remind the operator automatically when a refueling is necessary. This can be done both on the display on the front panel of the heating system or easily online via the new, user-friendly monitoring system PELLETRONIC ONLINE. This affordable level control system using load cells can be combined with most ÖkoFEN FleXILO Tanks, above all, it is a time-saving , easy way to monitor the fuel reserve. ÖkoFEN presents three solutions for level monitoring:
Level control with load cells on FleXILO Tank: Load cells measure the level of FleXILO Tanks with an accuracy of + / – 100 kg. The minimum weight for a warning message is adjustable. The warning message appears on the control panel and turns off when the fill weight is again on the set minimum weight.

Level monitoring using capacitive sensor: The capacitive sensor measures the presence of pellets at an arbitrary point in the FleXILO Tank. With telescopic tube, the position of the sensor can be changed. This changes the position of the response, it works like the fuel warning light in your car.

Level indicator by a load cell at the boiler hopper, PES36 – PES56: The load cell measures the level of the new FleXILO Compact with an accuracy of + / – 100 kg, the system deducts from the specified storage volume as the boiler hopper is filled, deducting it from the original storage volume. The minimum weight for a warning message is adjustable. The warning message disappears after the FleXILO is re-filled and the delivered volume it input into the system (this could be done by the delivery driver or using the Pelletronic Online System to remotely access the system)
